Saurabh Dalela appointed Director of iCAT for a second time

The new Director of iCAT is Saurabh Dalela, who was previously an associate vice president at JCB India (International Centre for Automotive Technology). Dalela has succeeded Dinesh Tyagi, who left the position in May of this year. he assumed leadership on November 21. During the interim, Pamela Tikku served as the Officiating Director.
This is the second stint in this role for the industry professional. He earlier held the position for nearly a year and a half from October 2007. In his new role as Director, ICAT, Dalela will be responsible for all the current automotive certification / CMVR compliance.
Dalela has held multiple positions, including in General Motors and Toyota, over the past 32 years. He has led portfolios like Product Development, Portfolio Strategy, Growth, Engineering, Innovation, Testing Infrastructure Planning & Execution, and Product Engineering Sign Off.
His core areas of experience are Automotive Engineering, Powertrain, Vehicle Dynamics, Automotive Electronics, Testing & Validation and Sign-off (both on road and off road). He has also contributed as an Additional Director of, the National Automotive Testing R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP) to up test facilities in the country, under the aegis of the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Manesar, is a centre established under NATRIP, Government of India in 2006. It has seen a cumulative Investment of INR 1260 crore at two Centres, both located at IMT Manesar. ICAT provides services of Design, Testing, Validation and Homologation for the Automotive, Defence, Rail, Healthcare and Aviation Industries.
