TRAI Releases Report on Independent Drive Tests

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released its report on Independent Drive Tests (IDT) conducted in January 2025 across five locations, including cities, highways, and railway routes in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, and Rajasthan-Haryana-Delhi-Punjab LSAs. The tests were conducted to assess the quality of voice and data services provided by telecom operators. 

The drive tests covered the following areas: 

â€� Bengaluru city (Karnataka LSA) 
â€� Jabalpur city & Raipur-Bilaspur-Raigarh Highway (MP LSA) 
â€� Delhi city & Sohna to Dausa Highway (Delhi LSA) 
â€� Vijayawada-Guntur city & Hyderabad-Vijayawada Highway (Andhra Pradesh LSA) 
â€� Jaipur Junction to Madhopur, Punjab Railway route (Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi & Punjab LSA)

The tests evaluated services provided by Bharti Airtel, BSNL/MTNL, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea across multiple technologies, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G. The findings reflect network performance in the tested areas at the time of evaluation.
