Airlines draw up Plan B for Delhi flyers hit by G20 restrictions

Airlines operating in Delhi are making necessary adjustments to accommodate traffic restrictions expected during the G20 Leaders' Summit this week. These changes are likely to impact travelers heading to and from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. As a response to potential disruptions, Air India and Vistara are offering passengers flexibility in altering their travel plans.

Air India has extended a one-time free date or flight change offer to passengers with confirmed tickets for travel to or from Delhi between September 7 and 11. The airline tweeted, "There will be traffic restrictions in Delhi between September 7 and 11. As a measure of goodwill, passengers with confirmed tickets to fly to or from Delhi on these dates are being offered a one-time waiver of applicable charges, if they wish to change their date of travel or their flight. Only the fare difference for the rescheduled flight, if any, would be applicable."

Vistara has also made adjustments to its flight schedule, including cancellations and rescheduling, in anticipation of elaborate regulations on vehicular movement impacting routes to IGI Airport. The airline advised customers scheduled to travel between September 8 and 11 to check the Vistara website for flight status updates in advance to minimize inconvenience. Vistara is offering a one-time change fee waiver for rescheduling bookings on the specified dates and is assisting affected passengers with rescheduling or refunds as needed.

These measures aim to ensure a smoother travel experience for passengers during the G20 Summit and the associated traffic restrictions in Delhi.
