The state government has granted its approval for an additional disbursement of Rs 880 crore in compensation for the second phase of the Noida International Airport, increasing the total compensation for landowners who will be affected by the project to Rs 4,780 crore. Officials have reported that 70% of the land acquisition process, covering 1,181 hectares across six villages in Jewar namely Ranhera, Kureb, Karauli Bangar, Dayanatpur, Beerampur, and Mudharah  has already been completed. Compensation amounting to Rs 2,800 crore has been disbursed to farmers thus far, with the remaining 184 hectares of land required for the second phase being government-owned.

This substantial land parcel is slated to be transferred to the Civil Aviation Department of the Uttar Pradesh government for the establishment of a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhauling (MRO) hub. The Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL), a collaborative effort between the UP government and development agencies, envisions attracting international investments for the MRO center, with the ultimate goal of transforming the region into a prominent aviation hub in India.
