Noida International Airport, scheduled for commissioning by the end of next year, is poised to embark on its operations with a robust plan of up to 65 daily flights. Among these flights, 62 will be serving domestic routes, two will connect to foreign destinations, and one will be dedicated to cargo services, as confirmed by officials.
The airport's first phase, which recently received its unique IATA code DXN, is on track for a commissioning deadline set for October 2024. Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL), the special purpose entity established by the Uttar Pradesh government to oversee the airport's development, is actively driving these initiatives.
Officials from NIAL have shared that, in addition to key cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune, discussions are underway to include short-distance flights to destinations like Dehradun and Pithoragarh among the initial routes. The selection of these routes is a meticulous process, involving an assessment of the airport's capacity, commercial viability, and feedback gathered from airlines.
