UP govt signs lease pact with AAI for Ayodhya International Airport

In a step toward developing the Ayodhya International Airport, the state government's Civil Aviation Department will sign a lease agreement with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to transfer 317.855 acres to the latter on lease for the project.
In the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath, the leasing agreement would be signed. The Uttar Pradesh government has acquired 317.855 acres of land for the airport project.
The international airport is an ambitious project to enhance tourism and give air connectivity to neighbouring areas. The Central and Uttar Pradesh (UP) governments aim to make Ayodhya a worldwide tourism centre once work on the Ram Temple has begun.
Durga Shanker Mishra, the Chief Secretary of UP, attended a review meeting of the Ayodhya Vision 2047, emphasising the need of developing Ayodhya as a clean, pollution-free, water-secure, water plus, solar, and safe city.
He said that the state administration aspires to make Ayodhya the world's spiritual capital. To make Ayodhya a safe city, the chief secretary further urged officials to give special attention to the security of residents and visitors from around the world.
In the next five years, the Chief Secretary directed officials from all concerned departments to work together to make Ayodhya the cleanest and safest city in the country.
The Chief Secretary was also asked to promote the use of pollution-free electric cars, operate electric buses, and improve municipal roadways accordingly.
Yogi Adityanath visited the Ram Temple site and evaluated the building progress on his first visit to Ayodhya after being elected chief minister for the second time.
He directed the Municipal Corporation to stop collecting housing and water taxes from maths, temples, and dharamshalas at commercial rates and instead look at charging some token money.
At his review meeting, the CM also asked authorities to arrange Ramnavmi festivities in Ayodhya.
