Bannerghatta road to be widened into 150 ft soon

Widening of one of the Bangalore's key roads Bannerghatta Road will start within two months. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will hold a meeting with the property owners over land acquisition on October 19. On October 5, Bangalore Mayor BS?Sathyanarayana inspected the road. BBMP officials appraised the Mayor that 405 properties have been identified for acquisition and widening will begin soon after obtaining consent from the property owners. They said steps will be taken to grant Transferable Development Rights (TDR) to those who stand to lose their properties. A 7.5-km stretch of the Bannerghatta road is to be widened into 150 feet. A detailed project report for the work has been prepared. The Mayor said a service road connecting Bannerghatta Road and Kodichikkanahalli will be laid soon.
