DC asks NHAI to speed up work on Jaipur expressway

Gurgaon Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner PC Meena reviewed the progress of the six-laning of Gurgaon- Kotputli-Jaipur Expressway on January 2 and asked the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the concessionaire Pink City Expressway (PCEPL) to complete the work in a time-bound manner.

After reviewing the progress, Meena reportedly expressed concern over the tardy pace of work and directed them to conduct survey of left-out pockets of land required for the project within a week. Once the survey is complete, these pockets could be acquired and handed over to the two agencies.

The State government had acquired land for the project in 2008 and it was handed over to the NHAI and the PCEPL in 2009. The project was taken up in 2009 and it was to be completed by October 2011. The cost of the project is Rs 1,896 crore. Subsequently, three supplement acquisitions were made and handed over to NHAI and the concessionaire, but the two agencies cliamed that some pockets were left out.

At this, the Deputy Commissioner pulled them for laxity and asked them to conduct survey and submit their report within a week and also give a certificate that all issues pertaining to land have been addressed.
