Centre grants Rs 6612 cr for roads, bridge in Telangana

The Federal Ministry of Road Transport and Highways unveiled a budget of Rs 66.12 billion during budget sessions for Telangana's road and bridge construction.
According to state R&B officials, of the anticipated Rs 66.12crore sanctioned, Rs 5.35 billion has been set aside to widen the 25-kilometer stretch of NH-65 from LB Nagar to Malkapur into six lanes. The building budget for the hybrid cable suspension bridge over the Krishna River on NH-167-K is estimated to be around Rs 5 billion. The NH-930P from Gourell to Waliponda, a 4192 km stretch of road, would be expanded into two lanes using Rs 200 million.
Similar to this, Rs 355.45 crore has been set aside for widening a 70-kilometer section of NH-765 between Medak and Siddipet, Rs 3.22 billion for widening the portion of NH-167K between Kalwakurthy and Kolhapur, Rs 2.78 billion for enlarging NH-161 between Bodhan-Basara-Bhainsa, and Rs 2.54 billion for converting 167-N to four lanes.
The ministry has allocated funds totaling Rs. 2.48 billion for the two-lane widening of NH-765 between Siddipet and Elkathurthi, Rs. 2.29 billion for the widening of the road between Medak and Yellareddy, Rs. 3.09 billion for the extension of NH-765-D between Yellareddy and Rudrapur, and Rs. 2.73 billion for the Khammam-Kuravi section of NH 365-A.
The development of NH 161-B from Nizampet to Bidar on the state border will receive Rs 2 billion, while NH 353-B in the Adilabad-Bela segment will receive Rs 2.47 billion.
A total of Rs 203.78 billion is anticipated to be spent on the 35 active road projects in the state.
