According to Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, the Delhi- Dehradun Expressway development will be finished by the end of this year, cutting the travel time between the two cities to two hours. Gadkari declared that construction on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway project would be completed by the end of December and that starting from January 1 the following year, travellers would only need to take two hours to travel from Dehradun to Delhi. As of now, the trip from Dehradun to Delhi takes about six hours. The all-weather road project will enable Char Dham Yatra to take place all year long, according to the union minister. 鈥淣ow, the Char Dham Yatra lasts six months. But, once the all-weather road project is finished, worshippers will be able to visit the Himalayan temples all year long,鈥� he added. According to him, construction has also started on the Kedarnath ropeway project, whose foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October 2022. The longest ropeway in the world, measuring 12.97 kilometres and rising to a height of 11,500 feet, would connect Sonprayag with the Himalayan shrine.
