Govt approves Rs 2,500 cr for road construction in Madhya Pradesh

The Central government has approved Rs 2,500 crore for a 203 km road construction in Madhya Pradesh.

Indore-Edlabad section of National Highway (NH) 347BG and Ujjain-Badnawar section (69 km) would be upgraded, and the overall road length would be 272 km. The construction and up-gradation of quality roads would benefit the Malwa region.

To construct the Indore-Edlabad section into four lanes, Rs 1162.80 crore has been approved. For the Ujjain-Badnawar section in Indore and Khargone, Rs 1352.56 crore has been sanctioned.

According to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the country is building a road network under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the supervision of the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari.

He said that Madhya Pradesh is also receiving its benefits, and the up-gradation and construction of quality roads would improve economic activities in the Malwa region.

Chouhan also extended gratitude to Prime Minister and Union Minister Gadkari on behalf of all the people of the state.
