Jharkhand Launches Large-Scale Highway Expansion with Seven 4-Lane Projects

Jharkhand has embarked on an extensive road infrastructure development plan, including seven significant four-lane highway projects aimed at enhancing regional connectivity.
One of the key projects is the Mirzachowki-Farakka stretch, which requires an investment of Rs 1,302.72 crore and spans 42.71 km, improving connectivity in the region. The Deoghar-Basukinath project, designed to cater to pilgrims, includes a dedicated 3.5-meter lane for Kanwariyas.
The Mahagama-Hansdiha stretch, covering 53.29 km, is another crucial development that strengthens the transportation network in Godda district. Jamshedpur will benefit from an elevated corridor that addresses environmental concerns on NH-33, while Ranchi will see the construction of two major flyovers, with one project involving a Rs 337.50 crore cable bridge.
Additionally, the Palma-Gumla stretch will transform NH-23, with an investment of Rs 1,546.86 crore. The Ratu Road Flyover, extending 3.76 km, will significantly enhance urban infrastructure.
Half of the projects will follow a greenfield development model, which prioritises ecological balance. Meanwhile, the Khajuri-Vindhamganj section is progressing steadily, with an investment of Rs 1,232.38 crore to ensure efficient connectivity. The Bharatmala Project also includes the Jaina Mode-Gola section, further improving interstate transportation networks.
