Kerala PWD to take over national highway repair works: Minister Riyas

Minister PA Mohamed Riyas stated that the Public Works Department is eager to take over the National Highway rehabilitation work.

According to the minister, at least ten letters have been addressed to the NHAI highlighting the need for repair work and national highway development. 鈥淚nterventions have to be made for improving roads, whether from the Centre or State,鈥� he added.

The state has begun road repair work in accordance with the High Court鈥檚 directives.

Minister Riyas said he will meet with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and V Muraleedharan to examine the issues.
