MoRTH inaugurates 16 NH projects worth over Rs 2k cr in Maharashtra

Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 16 National Highway (NH) projects worth Rs 2,460 crore in Jalgaon, Maharashtra.

He said that road connectivity is vital for the transportation and milling of agricultural commodities in Jalgaon district, an important hub for banana, cotton and sugarcane production and has the highest banana production in the country.

He said these road projects would improve the connectivity of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha and Chhattisgarh districts. It will reduce traffic congestion in Muktainagar, Varangaon, Nasirabad, and Jalgaon.

Gadkari said that these projects would increase the pace of transportation, save fuel and time and will help in reducing traffic jams and accidents in Jalgaon city. The cement-concrete roads will provide relief from potholes.

Further, road connectivity with adjacent rural areas will be improved, and the construction of bridges under this project will make travelling easier and safer for riders.
