MoRTH resolves 17,000 grievances, launches special cleanliness campaign

Between November 2022 and August 2023, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) successfully resolved a total of 17,000 public grievances. Additionally, they addressed 50 references from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and resolved 2,366 public grievance appeals, as stated in an official ministry announcement.

The ministry also proudly reported the resolution of 573 Member of Parliament (MP) references, 36 Parliamentary assurances, and 21 Cabinet proposal references from the Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC) during the same period.

Furthermore, the Ministry unveiled plans for a 'Special Campaign 3.0,' scheduled to run from October 2 to October 31, 2023. This campaign aims to institutionalise cleanliness (Swachhata) and reduce pending matters within the Ministry and its subsidiary offices, including the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL). The campaign will prioritise field and outstation offices, along with Ministries, Departments, and their attached and subordinate offices. Each office will appoint a senior officer as a nodal officer responsible for overseeing and coordinating the campaign's implementation.

The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) will serve as the lead department for monitoring and executing the campaign. The government previously conducted Special Campaigns in 2021 and 2022, reaffirming its commitment to improving administrative efficiency and public service."
