Mumbai roads will be devoid of potholes in two years, says BMC

In the next two years, according to the civic body of Mumbai, the city's roadways would be devoid of potholes thanks to concretization efforts.

The 236 kilometres of roads in the metropolis are being cement concretised (CC) for a cost of 2,200 crore, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The fiscal year 2023鈥�2024 will see the addition of 423 kilometres of roadways. Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, presided over a meeting to review Mumbai's roadways before the BMC made its announcement. Iqbal Singh Chahal, the civic body's commissioner, gave CM Shinde the assurance that the roads will soon be improved after he instructed them to make sure that citizens were given respite from potholes.

The CM was informed by Chahal that all cement concretisation road construction would be finished in the following two years. Of Mumbai's total 2055 kilometres of roadways, the civic authority estimates that about 1000 kilometres have already been concreted using cement.
