Nearly 200 trees translocated for road expansion in Nalgonda

Nearly 200 trees are being translocated for road expansion in Nalgonda. The translocation started on April 26.

The Nalgonda collector told the media that the translocation of trees would be done, in a phased manner. Around 50 trees would be translocated in the first phase.

Vata Foundation founder-president Uday Krisha said a dozen trees have already been relocated for roads.

The district and infrastructure administration were engaged in more tree translocation.

With the involvement of Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar, the translocation was started in Mahbubnagar too, along with Nalgonda, under the Green India Challenge. At least five decades-old tamarind, neems, and banyan trees were translocated to Charlapally Urban Park at Nalgonda bypass road.

The authority adopted a scientific process for the translocation of trees. The trees' survival was also essential. That is also a challenge in these weather situations, Uday Krishna said.

On a day, 12 big trees were relocated. The translocation process of the 50-year-old giant trees in Nalgonda town was accurate, MP J Santosh Kumar said.

Around 25 trees have been identified, in the first phase of the tree translocation. In Mahbubnagar, decades-old trees were also being translocated. Giant cranes were deployed, and the trees shifted to KCR Eco-Park. Four neem trees, which were 100 years old, were translocated from the R&B guest house to Mahbubnagar's KCR Urban Eco-Park.
