Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, inaugurated seven National Highway projects in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, totaling 204 km in length and costing Rs 24.44 billion. On the event were the Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister; Gopal Bhargava, senior state minister; MPs from Rewa Janardan Mishra, Sidhi, Reeti Pathak, and Ganesh Singh, as well as all MPs, MLAs, and officials.
While addressing the crowd, Gadkari said that the distance between Rewa and Sidhi has shrunk by 7 km as a result of the completion of the Churhat tunnel and bypass. Now we can go this distance in 45 minutes as opposed to two and a half hours. In addition, he said that instead of 45 minutes, it would only take 4 minutes to traverse Mohania Ghat.
White tigers, other wild species, and the entire forest ecology would be preserved, according to the minister, while vehicle travel in the Rewa-Sidhi portion will be made easier. The Devtalab-Naigarhi route will make it simple for Rewa district residents to travel to Prayagraj and Varanasi.
On this occasion, Gadkari approved the request to make the Rewa-Sidhi route four lanes and announced its widening. A 19 km long, 2-lane bypass of Rewa would be converted to 4-lanes, he added. The communication between Satna and Prayagraj-Varanasi via Chorhat will improve with the widening of this bypass.
In addition, in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, Nitin Gadkari opened the state's first 2.28 km long, Rs 160 billion crore 6-lane twin tunnel and 13 km long, 4-lane bypass.
