Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Union Road Transport and Highways, has directed officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to develop a plan and appoint a consultant within the next two months. The objective is to construct a two-layered elevated road stretching from Dhaula Kuan to Manesar.Rao Inderjit Singh, the Minister of State, made this announcement after a meeting with Nitin Gadkari. The main purpose behind constructing this elevated road is to alleviate the heavy traffic congestion on the Delhi-Gurugram route. The road will cater to light vehicles, operating above the existing road.During the meeting, Singh, who represents the Gurgaon constituency, brought up the issue of daily traffic jams between Delhi and Gurgaon.Furthermore, Singh urged Gadkari to initiate the tender process for building the elevated road from Hero Honda Chowk to Umang Bhardwaj Chowk and begin construction promptly.In the discussions, NHAI officials informed Gadkari that public facilities need to be relocated by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). They are currently in talks with the Metro authorities and GMDA to determine the pillar sizes, as the route is planned for a Metro train service.Gadkari instructed Singh to promptly arrange a joint meeting of NHAI and GMDA, under his chairmanship, to kickstart the tender process by coordinating with the concerned officers.The meeting also addressed the construction of the Manesar elevated flyover, during which NHAI officials raised concerns about a temple wall in Manesar. Rao Inderjit Singh assured that the temple wall would be removed by the last week of July.
