Telangana govt takes up Rs 8,052 cr road works under SRDP

Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao told the media that the state government has taken up road construction works worth Rs 8,052 crore under Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) in the city in the first phase.

The minister inaugurated a Road Over Bridge (ROB) built at an expense of Rs 86 crore at Kukatpally, an official release stated.

Rama Rao said about 30% of the SRDP construction works are over, and the rest of them are in different stages even though they are likely to be finished by next year.

The minister said plans for the second phase of SRDP construction works involving Rs 3,115 crore are ready for making essential infrastructure.

Talking about welfare schemes, he said the TRS government has been distributing different pensions to 40 lakh people- Rs 2,000 per month individually, whereas the prior regime gave pensions to only 26 lakh people- a mere Rs 200 individually.
