Alstom receives Rs 2196 million contract for Delhi Metro's Silver Line

The contract for the train-control and signaling solution (Package DS-06) for the 23.622 km Silver Line was awarded to Alstom Transport India. by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for Rs 2196 million. The under-construction underground line, which will connect Delhi Aerocity and Tughalakabad via 16 stations in South Delhi, is part of the 65.1 km Delhi Metro Phase 4 project. Together with i-ATS and Alstom's Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) system, the line will use Alstom's CBTC (Communications Based Train Control) system.

DMRC invited tenders for this contract in February 2022, with an unknown estimate and a four-year deadline. Alstom was the sole bidder when the technical bids opened in August 2022. Alstom's financial bid was opened in November following the technical evaluation. Alstom then submitted four revised offers to DMRC during a three-month contract negotiation period. The project's final contract value is approximately Rs. 2196 million. The design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the train control and signaling system for the Delhi MRTS phase 4 Aerocity to Tuglakabad Corridor is included in DMRC's project scope.
