Indian Railways will introduce 50 new Amrit Bharat trains

Indian Railways will add fifty more Amrit Bharat trains this year. Earlier this year, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw declared that 1000 Amrit Bharat trains will be launched in the next few years and that work is on to build trains that can go at 250 kmph. Prime Minister Narendra Modi initially unveiled Amrit Bharat on December 30, 2023. It connects Bengaluru to Malda Town and Anand Vihar to Darbhanga. This train moves at 130 km/h on average. The price of an Amrit Bharat Express ticket varies up to a 50-km journey in length. An Express train ticket for a second-class journey costs about Rs 35. For travels up to 15 kilometres and more than 50 km, the minimum cost for the sleeper class is Rs 46. It links locations that are more than 800 km apart or would take more than 10 hours to get there using current transportation options. This is an unreserved, low-cost sleeper service without air conditioning. With a maximum speed of 110?130 km/h (68?81 mph), the train set consists of two engines on each side and 22 cars. First-class service on the train began on January 1, 2024. In July 2023, Indian Railways announced plans to construct a long-distance, non-airconditioned train equipped with sleeping cabins and additional facilities. Integral Coach Factory in Chennai is the company that produces the train sets, and each one costs Rs 0.65 billion.
