In its 38th board meeting, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) granted approval for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) concerning the proposed metro section from Sector 142 to the Botanical Garden. This initiative, with a length of approximately 11.56 kilometres, aims to establish direct connectivity to Delhi Airport (Terminal-1) through the Magenta line of the Delhi Metro.
The DPR for this new route was prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) last month and subsequently presented to the NMRC, Noida Authority, and Greater Noida Authority. Following thorough discussions, the proposal received official approval.
The approved project envisions the construction of eight new metro stations along the designated route, fostering improved connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi.
Upon commencement of operations, the metro trains on this route will facilitate seamless travel between the Aqua Line, Botanical Garden, and Sector 142, offering a convenient transportation option for commuters traveling from Delhi to Greater Noida.
Furthermore, the Magenta Line will establish a direct link to the Indira Gandhi International Airport, enhancing connectivity to New Delhi and Anand Vihar Railway Stations via the Blue Line.
The estimated cost of the project is reported to be Rs 22.54 billion. The planned metro stations on the new line are expected to cover Botanical Garden, Noida Sector 44, Noida Office (Sector 96 Noida Authority Office), Noida Sector 97, Noida Sector 105, Noida Sector 108, Noida Sector 93 and Panchsheel Balak Inter College.
