Noida Metro Rail Corporation appoints Anand Vardhan as ED

Anand Vardhan, ACEO of Greater Noida Authority, took charge as Executive Director of Noida Metro Rail Corporation on November 21, 2022. Immediately after taking over the charge, he met with his subordinates and gathered information about the operation of the present metro route and the proposed metro routes.

On November 17, Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of Noida-Greater Noida Authority and Managing Director of Noida Metro Rail Corporation, handed over the charge of Executive Director of Noida Metro Rail Corporation, to the 2017 batch IAS officer and ACEO of Greater Noida Authority, Anand Vardhan. As a result, Anand Vardhan took charge as the new Executive Director on 21st November at the NMRC office in Noida.

Soon after assuming the charge, the new Executive Director held a meeting with his subordinate officers of NMRC to inquire about the operation of the existing route from Sector 51, Noida, to Depot Station, Greater Noida. He also inquired about the proposed routes from Noida’s Sector 52 to Knowledge Park Five, Botanical Garden to Sector 142 and Greater Noida’s Depot Station to Bodaki. The new Executive Director instructed his staff to work on all three proposed routes expeditiously. The detailed project report of the proposed metro project from Sector 52 to Knowledge Park Five in Noida has already been prepared and awaiting approval from the Ministry of Finance (Govt. of India), while the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the route from Depot to Bodaki and Botanical Garden to Sector 142 is under finalization.

Anand Vardhan has said that these three proposed routes will be prioritised. NMRC MD’s OSD VPS Komar, Chief Operating Officer RK Saxena, GM Technical Manoj Bajpai, GM Personnel & Finance Pankaj Malhotra and GM Project Pankaj Kumar were present while taking over the charge.
