Patna Metro Rail Project is moving at an extremely low pace and not over 1% of the total work has been completed in more than two and a half years of the project鈥檚 inauguration.
The Rajya Sabha MP and Sushil Modi, Deputy Chief Minister, took over the situation and held a meeting with the MD of Delhi Metro Rail Project, Mangu Singh and Director Diljit Singh, who were handling the Patna Metro Rail Project.
The inauguration of the project took place in February 2019, with a budget of Rs 13,000 crore. The Deputy Chief Minister, Sushil Modi, said that a loan of Rs 5,520.93 crore for the project was also taken from the Government of Japan.
The project works commenced in September 2020 before the assembly elections, but till now, there is only a 1% completion of the project.
During ten months, this 1% work is in the form of physical progress, and 3.1% in the form of financial progress, Sushil Modi said.
These metro lines are to be built for covering a distance of over 32 km in two corridors at Rs 77 crore apart from other structures.
The first corridor will cover 17 km, and the second will cover 14.55 km from Danapur to Mithapur and from Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) to Patna city railway station, respectively.
