Ravin Group bags Rs 50 cr order to supply fire survival cables

Ravin Group, a renewable energy and cable systems conglomerate, has been awarded a contract by the Indian Railways to provide specialised fire survival cables for the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link.

With a project cost of Rs 50 crore, the group was chosen as the preferred partner due to its expertise, technical prowess, product knowledge, and experience. The Ravin Group will provide medium voltage specialised fire survival cables of 33 kV and 11 kV, as well as low voltage and control cables, to the longest tunnel (T13) in the Katra-Dharam section, which is approximately 9.3 km long.

The entire project, which stretches 272 km from Udhampur to Baramulla, is expected to cost the government Rs 19,565 crore. There are 38 tunnels and 927 bridges in the project.

The USBRL Project has a budget of Rs 4,200 crore for the years 2021-22, according to the ministry of railway. It was designated as a National Project in 2020 and is scheduled to be finished in April 2023.
