The Ministry of Railways has given its green light for the final location survey (FLS) of a new railway line spanning 96 kilometers, connecting Jajpur Keonjhar Road to Dhamra Port in Bhadrak district, India. An official announcement revealed that Rs 2.4 crore has been allocated for conducting the survey, which will encompass significant religious and tourist destinations, such as the Akhandalamani temple at Aradi Pitha and Navigaya at Birajakhetra, as well as the Jajpur district headquarters town.Highlighting the project's importance, an official statement from the East Coast Railways stated that this initiative addresses a longstanding demand from the people of Jajpur and Bhadrak districts. The new railway line will establish crucial connections to the tourism hubs in Jajpur, Kendrapara, and Bhadrak districts. Furthermore, it will facilitate the efficient transportation of minerals from Keonjhar district and finished products from the industrial zones in Jajpur and Angul districts to Dhamra Port and vice versa, contributing to the region's economic growth.The proposed railway line is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for 'Purvoday,' which aims to foster the development of eastern India. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has actively supported the project, expressing his views on its significance. During a visit to Jajpur and Bhadrak, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw pledged to consider the proposal, further emphasizing the government's commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and economic prospects.This development is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the region's transportation infrastructure and economic prospects, while also fulfilling the aspirations of the local populace.
