According to Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES), six new upcoming suburban rail stations鈥擪SR Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Cantonment, Kengeri, Lottegollahalli, Muthyala Nagar and Chikkabanavarare鈥攁re likely to receive improved intermodal amenities. Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Enterprises (K-RIDE) is implementing the Bengaluru Suburban rail project, which is 148 km long. The four corridors are KSR Bengaluru City-Devanahalli (Sampige), Byappanahalli-Chikkabanavara (Mallige), Heelalige-Rajankunte (Kanaka), and Kengeri-Whitefield (Parijaata). As per the detailed project report (DPR), Kengeri station and Parijaata Line are a part of one another and linked with the upcoming Metro station. DPR also revealed that there would be a skywalk linking the BMTC bus terminal and Metro station, established 500m away from Kengeri suburban station. The major railway station of the city, KSR Bengaluru City, which serves long-distance trains, would be the interchange of two lines: Parijaata and Sampige. The improvements include a multi-level parking facility in the current car parking area. The skywalk connecting the Majestic bus terminus with Kempegowda. Interchange Metro station would be stretched to FoB, which connects City Railway Metro station and KSR Bengaluru City railway station. Lottegollahalli is the interchange station of the Sampige and Mallige corridor, from the Outer Ring Road, including a pick and drop facility and parking for individual vehicles that have access to the station.Moreover, the plan is to connect south-side entrances to the station with New BEL Road via pedestrian walkways. Muthyala Nagar and the Sampige corridor are a part of each other. This station would be open at 19th Cross Road on the west side and 1st A Cross Road from the east. The current RoB linking Outer Ring Road gives entrance to the proposed station on the east side. On the west side, a pick and drop area, an auto/taxi stand with a parking area on the empty land adjoining the railway track. The development of a pedestrian path adjacent to the current tunnel to the station has also been proposed. Chikkabanavara is a portion of the Mallige line. This station from the west side is accessible via Hesarghatta Main Road and a few minor roads from the east side. On the west side, the road would be stretched to 9 m and on the empty land near the station, two-wheeler parking, pickup drops, auto/taxi stand have also been proposed.
