Tirupati Smart City Corporation wins five awards at national level

The Tirupati Smart City Corporation Limited (TSCCL) has bagged five awards at the national level for excelling in various categories in the city under the Smart City project.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Audimulapu Suresh along with Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) Commissioner in the capacity of TSCCL Managing Director Anupama Anjali and Deputy Mayor Mudra Narayana received the awards from Minister for Housing and Urban Development Hardeep Singh Puri at an event organised in Surat of Gujarat on Monday.

The TSCCL received prestigious awards in sanitation (first rank), social aspects (first rank), urban environment (third rank), economy (second rank), and round wise city (second rank). Commissioner Anupama Anjali said that it was possible to win prestigious awards with the efforts and unstinted support of MP Gurumoorthy, MLA B Karunakar Reddy, Former Commissioner P S Girisha, Mayor Dr R Sirisha, people's representatives, district Collector, TSCCL board of directors, and engineering officials.

These five awards were announced in 2021 for the achievements in 2020. Due to the Covid pandemic, the awards were not given in 2021 and after normalcy returned, the Central Government organised an awards presentation event in Surat city of Gujarat. TSCCL General Manager Chandramouli said that this credit for winning five awards is possible only with the staff teamwork, particularly the sanitary, health, and officials.
