Noida to install smart LED screens at major intersections

The Greater Noida Authority plans to install smart LED screens at six major intersections, including Pari Chowk, to disseminate information related to the city, as has been done in Delhi. A request for proposal (RFP) had been floated for this build-operate-transfer (BOT) project.

鈥淭he decision to install LED screens has been taken to make the city clean and attractive. This will not only enhance the look of intersections but also make citizens aware of important developments,鈥 said Surendra Singh, chief executive of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority.

Officials said the authority won鈥檛 spend money for this project, but will give a contract to a company for the next five years. 鈥淭he company selected will install the LED screen and run slogans and videos for 15 minutes every hour. The company will have the right to display ads for the next five years. The installation, operation and maintenance of the LED screens will be the responsibility of the selected company,鈥 said a senior official of GNIDA.

GNIDA general manager A K Arora said the pre-bid meeting of RFP would be held on July 29. The last date for submitting bids is August 5 while the technical bids would be opened on August 1.
