By June of this year, the state capital will have its first hub for multimodal transportation.
The new facility would make it easier for commuters to access numerous public transit options
under one roof, including buses, autorickshaws, e-rickshaws, and taxis.
The projected transportation centre will be connected to Patna Junction and multi-level parking near
Bakri Bazaar at Patna GPO.
Through a 440-meter-long pedestrian underground, you may reach Buddha Smriti Park. Additionally,
it will offer smooth access to the planned underground metro station close to Patna Junction. A
private company located in Delhi has begun work on the G+2 building, which will be furnished with
contemporary amenities.
City buses will be able to park on the building's ground floor, according to representatives of the
Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited (BSBCC), the project's nodal organisation.
Other floors would be able to hold both commercial and private vehicles.
By consolidating all transportation services under one roof, according to PSCL project manager K.
Kartikey, the integrated transport hub will ease commuters' travel woes and lessen gridlock on
Station Road.
On the bottom level of the transportation hub, 32 buses can be accommodated at once. There will
also be 24 parking spaces, six of which will be set aside for e-buses with electric charging stations.
According to Priya Saurav, public relations officer for PSCL, the multi-modal hub would have cutting-
edge amenities and serve as a depot for both private and commercial cars.
"Through the automatic displays that will be erected at the building, people will be able to see the
routes, bus numbers, and times.
32 buses can be parked on the ground level, and rental cars, e-rickshaws, and other commercial
vehicles can be placed on the first floor. Private automobiles will only be permitted on the second
floor "She spoke.
Added her: "The public will have access to facilities like e-charging stations, cafeterias, ATM kiosks,
ticketing counters, waiting areas, and other essential services like drinking water and restrooms.
Additionally, firefighting equipment will be fitted for safety and CCTV cameras for security.
A pedestrian subway and a bridge connecting to multi-level parking and an activity centre will be
built at Station Road as part of the Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL) project to rebuild the railway
station area.
