Smart City experts to evaluate over 3,500 completed projects

In its seventh year, �7th SMART URBANATION 2022� will bring together all ‘Smart City� stakeholders to debate and decode challenges and solutions for India’s smart cities journey.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Smart Cities Mission completes seven years on June 25, 2022. The mission initially included 100 cities, with the project completion deadline between 2019 and 2023. Against the commitment of Rs 48,000 crore over five years and a matching equivalent amount to be released by the states, the Centre has [so far] released a total of Rs 28,413.60 crore and 83 per cent of it has been used. However, the mission has been able to utilise only 49 per cent of the committed amount across 100 cities.

So far, smart cities have tendered out 6,721 projects worth Rs 1,88,507 crore; work orders have been issued in 6,124 projects worth Rs 1,62,908 crore; 3,421 projects worth Rs 58,735 crore have been completed.

In view of this, the SMART CITIES COUNCIL INDIA has organised �7th SMART URBANATION 2022� on August 26-27, 2022 at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai. The event is supported by Smart Cities Mission and the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.

In its seventh year, the convention-cum-trade show will bring together all ‘Smart City� stakeholders (government, corporate and professional) to debate and decode challenges and solutions for India’s smart cities journey. More than 50 officials from India’s smart cities are expected to participate.

There will be SMART CITIES WEEK conference on both days, followed by 17th CONSTRUCTION WORLD ARCHITECTS AND BUILDERS AWARDS on the first day and SMART PROJECT AWARDS on the second. ()

The trade show provides an opportunity to visit the expo floor where over 50 companies will be demonstrating innovative and disruptive products.

The event is based on the theme, �Smart Cities � Altering Priorities & Adopting Intelligent Technologies to Deliver Mandated Outcomes�, and is supported by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, National Institute of Urban Affairs, MAIT, to name a few.

Over the years, SMART URBANATION has grown into a platform beyond just an event and has emerged as a ground-breaking model of advocacy for a better urban world.

With more than 50 speakers and exhibit spaces, the event will have 500+ key decision-makers, including officials from top cities, national experts, global companies, policymakers, financiers, technologists, business leaders, academicians, researchers, architects, and developers, town planners, and citizen organisations.
