Godrej Korber bags order for setting up warehouse in Uttar Pradesh

Godrej & Boyce has declared that its Joint Venture (JV), Godrej Korber, has received a large order from a paint manufacturer for setting up an automated warehouse in Uttar Pradesh.
This order follows the company's strengthening of its partnership with Korber AG, a German company, to bring together an unrivalled depth and breadth of technologies and expertise to overcome supply chain complexity.
According to a report by Research And Markets, India's warehousing market will be worth Rs 1,050 billion in 2020.
Between 2021 and 2025, this is expected to grow at a CAGR of 14.86%.
The new project will help the company manage the movement and storage of 15,000 tonnes of decorative and industrial paints produced in Sandila, Uttar Pradesh, in a more efficient manner. For seamless operations, the system is managed by a warehouse management system (WMS) that is linked to the client's ERP (Oracle).
The proposed system includes double deep linear stacker cranes, 15,000+ storage locations within the facility connected by input or output conveyors, and auto lifts bridging the manufacturing and warehouse connections.

The warehouse automation market in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 14% to 20% over the next three to five years, according to estimates, and Godrej Korber aims to grow at a CAGR of greater than 25% over the next three years.
