Bengal's Digha plans new waste management schemes

According to the latest report, the government and administration are working hard to make Digha, the popular tourist centre of East Medinipur, a world-class tourist centre. In the post-Corona period, tourists have flocked to Digha on various festival days.
Various reports suggest that about one and a half to two lakh tourists come to Digha at different times on different occasions. Due to the large number of tourists, the fleet of dirty garbage is also increasing in Digha. Various festivals, including Durga Puja, are ahead. Digha will be flooded with tourists. The administration took special initiative to keep Digha clean and beautiful with many tourists.

Officials of the administration think that tourists will come only if the tourist centres are clean. Not only the state but also beyond the boundaries of the state, tourists from the country and abroad also find a clean environment in the tourist centre.
Currently, the number of foreign tourists is increasing in Digha. As a result, transparency is emphasised in the district, including Digha. On the one hand, the administration is trying to make Digha more beautiful.
The administration has emphasised transparency to keep Digha beautiful in the tourist crowd. No more dirty garbage everywhere. The administration is proactive in this regard. Digha Shankarpur Development Board has taken action against dumping dirty garbage everywhere in Digha.
Tourists and local traders have been instructed to dispose of dirty waste in designated dustbins. Digha has been brought under the Waste Management Scheme to keep it clean. Along with this, it is known from the administration sources that there will be cleaning work at certain times of the day to keep the Digha clean during Puja.
Along with this, Digha Shankarpur Development Board Acting Executive Officer and Kanthi Sub-Divisional Administrator Shouvik Bhattacharya said that the administration is continuing its efforts to make Digha, one of the tourist cities of the state, beautiful. During Puja, the work of cleaning will continue at regular intervals to keep the Digha from being crowded. Even then, appropriate action will be taken if tourists or local shopkeepers less everywhere.
