L&T wins major water treatment contracts

Engineering and construction giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that it has won "significant" contracts for its water and effluent treatment division. While the exact contract values were not disclosed, these orders fall within L&T's "significant" category, typically ranging from Rs 10 billion to Rs 25 billion based on the company's classification.

The water and effluent treatment segment of L&T has received an engineering, procurement, and construction order from the Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan. This order involves the construction of a water supply project for 648 villages in the Chittorgarh district, drawing water from the Chambal River under the Jal Jeevan Mission (Package-I).

Additionally, L&T has secured an order from the Guwahati Water Supply and Sewerage Board in Assam for the construction and commissioning of balance works for the South Guwahati West Water Supply Project, which has a capacity of 107 MLD (minimal liquid discharge).
