Property Solutions (India) (PSIPL), a leader in Integrated Facility Management Services (IFMS), has taken a significant step to address the issue of solid waste mismanagement in Mumbai with the launch of 鈥榃aste It or Invest It鈥 initiative in collaboration with Kalpataru Foundation. This pioneering initiative is aimed at tackling Mumbai鈥檚 escalating solid waste crisis.
With on-ground implementation by RUR Greenlife, this initiative is carried out by empowering neighbourhoods through decentralised composting, recycling, and behavioral change programs. It has already reached over 22,000+ people through eco-awareness workshops, sustainability kiosks, and educational campaigns across schools, residential societies, and corporate spaces.
These spaces are further strengthened with effective infrastructure development. There are 23 Aerobic Bio-Composting units installed across 8 housing societies and 3 schools to enable on-site wet waste treatment. Additionally, an educational outreach was carried out to enable grassroots-level development where stakeholders conducted workshops and hands-on activities such as engaging waste-sorting games and Green Leadership Programs to create 鈥楪reen Champions鈥
Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Shanbhag, CEO, PSIPL, said, "At PSIPL, we see waste not as an endpoint, but as a resource waiting to be harnessed. 鈥榃aste It or Invest It鈥 is our way of empowering citizens to rethink their role in the environmental ecosystem鈥攐ne small, sustainable step at a time."
The initiative supports the Swachh Bharat Mission and advances multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing PSIPL鈥檚 commitment to sustainable urban living and responsible waste management, and exemplifying their resolve for scalable environmental action.
