Eastern Railway invites bids for 2.2 MW rooftop solar systems

The Eastern Railway's Howrah Division has requested bids for the design and supply of a 2.2 MW on-grid rooftop solar installation with no battery backup. The deadline for bids submissions is March 6, 2023.

Bids will be accepted and opened on the same day. Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 653,000. The project must be finished within 6 months of the work order being received.

The project's equipment should be in conformity with the "Make in India" policy. Bidders must have executed three identical works costing at least 30% of the tender value, two similar works costing at least 40% of the tender value, or at least one similar job costing at least 60% of the tender value in the previous seven years.

The South Eastern Railway has launched a tender for the appointment of developers to install grid-connected rooftop solar systems of varying capacities in West Bengal via public-private partnership.

In November last year, the Western Railway announced it had saved Rs 30 million on energy bills during the financial year 2021-22 by installing 6.6 MW of solar power projects across 97 railway stations and 3.92 MW of solar power projects at 46 railway office buildings.
