Power Grid soars on winning 2 projects

The state-run company declared that it had won the bid for two inter-state transmission system projects under the build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis. Power Grid confirmed that it had received Letters of Intent for both projects.

According to the company, the first project involves the transmission system for the evacuation of power from Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) in Rajasthan, which is expected to generate 20 GW of power under Phase III Part B1. This project includes establishing a new 765/400/220 kilovolt (KV) pooling station at Bhadla-3 and a 765 KV D/C Transmission Line traversing in Rajasthan, along with associated bay extension works.

The second project focuses on the transmission scheme for the Solar Energy Zone in Ananthpuram (Ananthapur) (2,500 MW) and Kurnool (1,000 MW) in Andhra Pradesh. This project entails setting up a new 400/220 KV Pooling Station at a suitable border location between Ananthpuram and Kurnool, along with two 400 KV D/C transmission lines traversing in Andhra Pradesh, and associated bay extension works.
