REC Commits Rs 29.2 million Under CSR

REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Under this partnership, REC has committed Rs 29.2 million to procure medical equipment for ITBP field hospitals across Leh (2), Narayanpur in Chhattisgarh (1), Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh (1), Dehradun in Uttarakhand (1), and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh (1). This initiative, implemented by REC Foundation, aims to benefit ITBP personnel, their families, dependents, Ex-CAPF members, and civilians in these regions.

The agreement was signed on December 30, 2024, by Shri Pradeep Fellows, Executive Director (CSR), REC, and Shri S.C. Mamgain, Inspector General (Admin), ITBP. Speaking at the event, Shri Pradeep Fellows emphasised the initiative’s impact: “By addressing the unique healthcare needs of these regions, we are supporting the brave ITBP personnel while fostering healthier, more resilient communities. This initiative reflects our commitment to enhancing lives in remote and underserved areas, ensuring meaningful differences in healthcare access and well-being.”

The advanced medical equipment will strengthen healthcare delivery at these field hospitals, enabling quicker diagnostics, improved patient care, and timely medical interventions. It is especially crucial in high-altitude regions and Naxalite-affected areas.

Over 1.5 lakh ITBP personnel and civilians are expected to benefit from these upgrades, which will reduce patient wait times, enhance critical care, and ensure uninterrupted medical services. By providing quality healthcare, the initiative aims to bring peace of mind and better health outcomes to those living in challenging environments.
