Gujarat government approves 11 town planning schemes

The state government approved 11 town planning (TP) schemes, nine of which were for Ahmedabad.
The government also approved one TP scheme each for Surat and Bhavnagar.
According to an official statement, two draft TP schemes and seven preliminary TP schemes for Ahmedabad have been approved.
These include Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority's draught TP schemes 128/A Rupavati and 138/B Rupavati-Vasodara.
TP Scheme 92/B Sarkhej-Okaf, TP Scheme 105 Vastral, TP Scheme 73 Vinzol, TP Scheme 114 Vastral-Ramol, TP Scheme 93/C Gyaspur-Vejalpur, TP Scheme 65 Saijpur-Bogha, and TP Scheme 66 Saijpur-Bogha East are the seven preliminary TP Schemes of Ahmedabad that have been cleared.
The government has also approved preliminary TP schemes 57 Pandesara in Surat city, as well as TP scheme 32 Shampura under the Bhavnagar Area Development Authority, according to the release.
23,700 EWS housing units will be built as part of the Ahmedabad schemes that have been approved. A total of 25.05 hectares has been set aside for gardens and parks, with an additional 20.73 hectares set aside for other public amenities.
An area of 89.95 hectares will be sold under the TP schemes in Ahmedabad to finance infrastructure and other facilities, while an area of 20.40 hectares will be sold under the sanctioned TP schemes in Surat and Bhavnagar to finance infrastructure and other amenities.
According to the statement, 567 EWS housing units will be built in the Pandesara area of Surat city, while 3,300 EWS housing units will be built in Bhavnagar.
According to the statement, CM Bhupendra Patel has directed the urban development department to expedite work on all pending city and town planning schemes.
