Vodafone Idea Limited presented 5G-based technology solutions

Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), a prominent telecom operator, presented a range of 5G-based technology solutions as part of its ongoing 5G trials on Government allotted 5G spectrum in Pune, Maharashtra and Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
As per MD and CEO Vodafone Idea Limited, Ravinder Takkar, with their 5G trials underway, Vi plans to take India on the next journey of fifth-generation wireless mobile communication technology. Their 5G trials display a whole new world of possibilities across different domains that promise a new era of technological progress in India.
With the goal of a better tomorrow, Vi has been carrying out 5G trials and designed a wide range of use cases suitable for Enterprises and Consumers in India. Vi has joined hands with industry leaders like Athonet, L&T Smart World & Communication, Indian start-ups like Vizzbee & Tweek Labs, and technology leaders 鈥� Ericsson and Nokia for trialling use cases in the two places.
Dedicated to supporting its customers succeed and have a better tomorrow, Vi is leveraging the power of 5G technology across segments like smart cities, industry 4.0, smart workplace, smart agriculture, smart healthcare, smart education, gaming, amongst others. Vi鈥檚 trials have verified that the high data speed, low latency and reliability of 5G technology, can get tremendous developments by improving business performance, changing consumer lifestyle, revolutionising customer experience and positively influencing people living in remote corners of India.
Vi has been allotted 26 GHz and 3.5 GHz spectrum in the mmWave band by the DoT, for 5G network trials and use cases. Vi has attained peak speeds over 1.5 Gbps on 3.5 GHz, over 4.2 Gbps on 26 GHz and up to 9.8 Gbps on the backhaul spectrum of E-bands.
The 5G trial network inserted by Vi in Pune deploys Ericsson Radios and Ericsson Dual Mode Core based on cloud-native technology including 5G SA, 5G NSA and LTE packet core functions. All use cases presented in Pune have been formed over Ericsson鈥檚 5G technology solutions.
In Gandhinagar, Vi is utilising Nokia鈥檚 AirScale radio portfolio and Microwave E-band solution for the trial that help enterprises, both large and small and medium firms, with reliable connectivity.
