Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of several development projects worth over Rs 121 billion during his visit to his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, on July 7. As per the PMO, it was stated that he would be opening the Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Junction-Son Nagar railway line of the dedicated freight corridor. The new line, which was constructed at a cost of over Rs 67.60 billion, would enable faster and more efficient movement of goods. Additionally, the PM would be dedicating three railway lines to the nation, the electrification of which had been completed at a cost of more than Rs 9.9 billion. These included the Ghazipur city-Aunrihar rail line, Aunrihar-Jaunpur line, and the Bhatni-Aunrihar line. The completion of these projects would signify the achievement of 100% electrification of railway lines in Uttar Pradesh. Furthermore, the PM would be dedicating the four-lane widening of the Varanasi-Jaunpur section of NH-56 to the public. This project, completed at a cost of over Rs 27.50 billion, would make travel from Varanasi to Lucknow easier and faster. Among the various projects in Varanasi to be inaugurated by the PM were the construction and renovation of 18 PWD roads, the construction of an international girls' hostel building on the BHU campus, the establishment of the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) - Vocational Training Centre in Karsara village, the construction of residential buildings and amenities at Sindhaura police station, PAC (Bhullanpur), fire station (Pindra), and government residential school (Tarsada), the construction of the Economic Offences Research Organisation building, the installation of a sewer line from Mohan Katra to Konia Ghat, and the implementation of a modern septage management system in Ramna village. Additionally, the inauguration would include the unveiling of 30 double-sided backlit LED unipoles, the establishment of a cow dung-based biogas plant at NDDB Milk plant (Ramnagar), and the introduction of a unique floating changing rooms jetty at Dashashwamedh Ghat to facilitate the bathing of devotees in the Ganga. The foundation stones for several projects would also be laid by Modi, including the construction of three two-lane rail over bridges (RoB) near Chaukhandi, Kadipur, and Hardattapur railway stations, the construction of the Vyasnagar-Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Junction rail flyover, and the construction and renovation of 15 PWD roads. These projects would be developed at a combined cost of about Rs 7.8 billion. In addition, the PM would lay the foundation stones for 192 rural drinking water schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission. These schemes, which would be constructed at a cost of over Rs 550 crore, aimed to provide pure drinking water to seven lakh people in 192 villages. Furthermore, the foundation stones for the redesigning and redevelopment of Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghats would be laid. These initiatives would facilitate public conveniences, waiting areas, wood storage, waste disposal, and eco-friendly cremation pyres. Lastly, the foundation stones would be laid for the construction of floating changing room jetties at six religiously significant bathing ghats on the banks of the Ganga in Varanasi, similar to the floating changing room jetties at Dashashwamedh Ghat, as well as the construction of a students' hostel on the CIPET campus in Karsara.
