Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to the union territory of Diu, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar
Haveli (DDDNH) to dedicate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 50 billion. The NAMO
Medical Education & Research Institute, whose foundation stone was also placed by Modi in January
2019, will be dedicated in Silvassa. The development of the college's facilities will cost Rs 2 billion.
The college will move to the new site, which spans 35 acres, from a rented building that it was using
previously. With 177 seats available, the college can accommodate close to 700 students.
Besides housing for students and professors, the new campus has a research centre, a central library
open around-the-clock that contains national and international journals, specialised staff, medical
labs, modern lecture rooms, an anatomy museum, a clubhouse, and sports facilities. At Silvassa's
Sayli Ground, the PM will also lay the foundation stone for 96 projects worth more than Rs 48 billion.
Government schools in the villages of Morkhal, Kherdi, Sindoni, and Masat are among the initiatives,
as are the beautification, sturdiness, and enlargement of numerous roads in DNH. Among the
projects that will be introduced are the enlargement of the water supply network in Nani Daman,
the fish market and shopping complex at Moti Daman, and the government schools at Ambawadi,
Pariyari, Damanwada, and Khariwad.
He will also dedicate the country's first of its kind beachfront promenade, the 5.45 km long Devka
seafront in Daman that was built at a cost of roughly Rs 165 crores. The region is anticipated to
become a centre for leisure and recreational activities as a result of the seafront's increased tourist
appeal. Smart lighting, parking lots, gardens, food stands, play spaces, and future luxury tent villages
are all present on the beachfront.
