HP mulls high altitude airstrip in Kinnaur

The state government of Himachal Pradesh has decided to explore the possibility of constructing a high altitude airstrip at Chaka heights in Kinnaur district, to promote the tribal district as a major tourist attraction.

The state government will take up the matter with the appropriate authority in the Union government to survey the location for deve­lopment as a high altitude airstrip to cater to the req­uirement of high-end tour­ists who could be flown to the valley directly from different destinations all over the country.
