IndiGo Starts Direct Flights From Abu Dhabi To Vizak, Bhubaneswar

IndiGo, India’s leading low-cost carrier, will start direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar in June 2025. This expansion aims to strengthen economic ties, promote tourism, and offer convenient travel for the Indian diaspora in the United Arab Emirates.

Starting 12 June, IndiGo will operate thrice-weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Bhubaneswar on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. From 13 June, four weekly flights will connect Abu Dhabi and Visakhapatnam on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

These new routes are part of IndiGo’s broader plan to expand its international network, which includes over 100 weekly flights from 15 Indian cities to Abu Dhabi. The airline now operates 275 weekly flights to the UAE, serving 18 Indian cities.

Visakhapatnam is a key port city on India’s east coast, known for industry and beaches, while Bhubaneswar is Odisha’s capital with ancient temples and growing infrastructure. Direct flights to Abu Dhabi are expected to boost tourism, investment, and access to international markets.

The flights also offer a convenient travel option for the large Indian expatriate community in the UAE, fostering cultural and familial ties. This initiative aligns with the government’s goals to improve regional connectivity and support economic growth through better air travel infrastructure.
