From 1st November, the Noida district administration will hold hearings to collect feedback from villagers who will be required to sell their land for the second phase of the Noida airport. This phase will affect a total of 6,830 families. The first meeting will take place on 1st November in Mundhera, according to officials. The hearings will resume on 8th November after a break for Diwali and run until 11th November. Balram Singh, an additional district magistrate, said that the public hearing schedule has been finalised. They will take place on November 1 and 2 and will resume on 8th November after the Diwali celebrations. Residents of the six villages where land would be acquired would be notified of the hearing locations and times. On September 25, the district administration received the social impact assessment report from a six-member Gautam Buddha University team, which requested a few more details. According to the SIA report, the number of families displaced this time will be nearly double that of the first stage. The administration had identified 3,003 families who needed to be relocated during the first phase, which included the acquisition of 1,334 hectares. According to the SIA report, 5,063 families will have to be relocated for the second stage, which will span 1,363 hectares. Karauli Bangar, Kureb, Mundhera, Birampur, Dayanatpur, and Ranhera are the six villages where land will be acquired. Houses in three of the six villages, Ranhera, Kureb, and Karauli Bangar, would have to be demolished, according to officials. The state government has yet to respond to the district administration's request that the acquisition of Abadi land in Nagla Hukum Singh, a settlement in Karauli Bangar revenue village, be postponed. Nagla Hukum Singh villagers have been holding panchayats regularly and have threatened to boycott public hearings and other acquisition procedures if their demands are not met.
