MMRDA approves Rs 101 crore for repairing Ulhasnagar roads

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has approved Rs 101 crore for five concrete roads of Ulhasnagar city, which are in bad condition.

The five major concrete roads include A block to Sai baba mandir through Dolphin club, Hira ghat mandir to Darby hotel, Sonara chowk through Sharda castle to Koyande, Shyama Mukherjee chowk to Shanti Nagar through Vithalwadi railway station, and Vako compound to Venus chowk.

Mayor of Ulhasnagar municipal corporation, Leelabai Ashan, said that these roads are in a bad situation, and since Ulhasnagar corporation has a lack of funds demands was raised before Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Dr Shrikant Shinde who after various follow up with Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde got approved funds for roads.

Ulhasnagar is the first city in Maharashtra that once had maximum concrete roads when Pappu Kalani was ruling in the municipal corporation. These roads have got damaged and people are facing inconvenience in the city, in the last few years.

Ulhasnagar city in Thane district is a part of the Mumbai metropolitan region managed by MMRDA.
