As part of the Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor project, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has approved Rs 1265.59 crore for the six-laning of the Baunsaguar-Baraja section of NH-130. Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced this via social media. The Minister claimed that a budget of Rs 1265.59 crore has been granted in Odisha for the six-laning of the Baunsaguar-Baraja stretch of NH-130-CD under the Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor in a series of tweets regarding the projects approved by the NHAI. NHAI had sanctioned Rs 1,539 crore earlier this month under the Bharatmala Pariyojana for the six-laning of the Kaliagura-Baunsaguar section of the NH-130 in the state. The Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor, also known as the Raipur-Vizag Expressway, is a 464 km NHAI-approved six-lane access-controlled road that runs through the states of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. The project begins in Abhanpur, Chhattisgarh, and ends in Sabbavaram, Andhra Pradesh, near Vizag. The highway will run for 124.611 km through Chhattisgarh, 262.211 km through Odisha, and 99.629 km through Andhra Pradesh on its greenfield alignment.
