North-east receives projects worth Rs 68 billion

In the states of Meghalaya, Tripura, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the construction of projects totalling Rs 68 billion. The projects span a variety of industries, including housing, building roads, agriculture, communications, information technology, tourism, and hospitality.

Modi introduced the "Grih Pravesh" programme in Agartala for more than 200,000 recipients of the urban and rural Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana schemes.

Additionally, Modi laid the foundation stones for other state-funded projects totalling more than Rs 24.5 billion. He began work on projects totaling more than Rs 43.5 billion in Tripura, including the building of 32 roads totaling more than 230 km under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY III) and the upgrading of 112 roads totaling more than 540 km.

He also participated in the North Eastern Council's (NEC) golden jubilee celebration in Shillong and opened the new campus of IIM Shillong.
