Govt proposes bullet train services between Varanasi with Howrah

The centre has proposed to link Varanasi with Howrah through a bullet train service.

The planned bullet train joining Varanasi and Howrah will pass via multiple cities in Bihar and Jharkhand before arriving at its final destination.

The Indian Railway has begun carrying out surveys to recognise the route in the states where railway tracks and bullet train stations will be installed. The railways have given the responsibility of the survey to a private agency.

As per an Indian Railways official, the bullet train will move via several districts of Jharkhand, and surveys are presently underway at Giridih district to recognise routes and villages that the project will impact.

A senior officer of the Indian Railways told the media that the Bullet train would run via Dhanbad and Giridih鈥檚 Bagodar block.

Lokesh Bhardwaj, a member of the survey team, told the media that the Central Government aims to operate a bullet train from Varanasi to Howrah. They are carrying out surveys to recognise the places where rail tracks can be laid.

He additionally said that the survey team is trying to recognise the availability of land and villages that will be benefited from the forthcoming project.

The survey report will be presented to the central government after which the authorities will take the next course of action. They have concluded their survey in Giridih district, and shortly they will start their survey in Dhanbad.
